Wingsuit flight off iconic Patagonian peak.

Cerro Chaltén, or Monte Fitz Roy, is one of the most iconic peaks in the world for alpine mountaineering, standing high along the border of Argentina and Chile. It was first climbed in 1952 by French alpinists Lionel Terray and Guido Magnone, but it remains one of the world’s most premier alpine challenges.

Konstantin Jäämurd, Boris Egorov, and Vladimir Murzaev decided to claim their own first on the legendary peak, climbing the mountain before leaping from its summit in wingsuits. They are the first known ever to climb and wingsuit from the top of the mountain.

The summit took multiple days, requiring a bag of expensive gear that they (sadly) eventually lost. But they pulled it off, climbing to 11,171 feet before leaping off the rocks.

Congrats to the trio for this incredible accomplishment.
