While the world is getting amped up to watch many of their favorite sports in the Winter Olympics, another winter sport is set to celebrate its first ever World Championships. The first-ever Freeride World Championships are officially confirmed for tomorrow February 3rd, at Ordino Arcalรญs in Andorra.

Athletes qualified for the event through competitions from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, with the five pathways for entrance being FWT Pro Rankings, Continental and NSA Quotas, Wildcards, and a Host Nation Wildcard. 65 of the worldโ€™s best freeride skiers and snowboarders from 17 nations are set to compete.

The Basser Negre face features a drop of 470 meters, a northeast orientation, and an average slope angle of 36ยฐ. Three distinct technical zones offer plenty of variety, including sheer drops and exposed sections.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9:15am local time, or around 3:15am EST. A livestream of the competition will be available here.
