Lindsey Vonn released a brief update on her condition following her crash at the Downhill World Cup race in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
According to the update, Vonn suffered an injury to her left knee. She states that she’s currently discussing the situation with doctors and the team and will undergo further exams. For now, she states that her Olympic dream is not over. Read her full statement below.
Vonn was the 6th racer down the hill and the 3rd to crash, with the weather making for extremely difficult and dangerous conditions. She was able to ski to the bottom of the trail after receiving medical attention but was in visible pain throughout the run. Shortly after she was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The race was cancelled following her crash.

“I crashed today in the Downhill race in Switzerland and injured my left knee. I am discussing the situation with my doctors and team and will continue to undergo further exams.
This is a very difficult outcome one week before the Olympicsโฆ but if thereโs one thing I know how to do, itโs a comeback.
My Olympic dream is not over. Thank you for all of the love and support. I will give more information when I have it.
