Asja Zenere incredible recovery at St. Moritz

Italian ski racer Asja Zenere pulled off an incredible recovery after launching a high speed jump during the St. Moritz Super-G that aimed her squarely at a gate. Traveling at nearly 75mph, Zenere had the presence of mind to duck her head and tuck her body and somehow squeezed through the gate.

In real time the crowd and the announcers alike didn’t recognize she had split the uprights but once the replay was put up on the big screen she was met with roar of approval from the fans at the finish lines.

F1 drivers was widely lauded for their split second reaction times and we think ski racers should join that elite group of athletes celebrated for making instinctual decisions in the heat of the moment that can’t even be appreciated unless replayed in slow-mo. You can see her take a moment and give a well deserved “are you not entertained” response to the cheering section. Bravo to Asja, crisis averted.
