Bretton Woods, New Hampshire — New Hampshire’s ski season will begin this weekend thanks to the snowmakers over at Black Mountain and Bretton Woods.

Today, Black Mountain and Bretton Woods Ski Area announced that it plans to open for the season on Saturday, November 15th.

Black Mountain will be skiing on the upper mountain, with skiing set to kick off at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Over at Bretton Woods, the Range View trail will be open, serviced by the Zephyr Express Quad. This will make them the first to open to the public in NH for the 2025-26 season.

The ski area will operate Zephyr from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday. It will close down for a few days to focus on snowmaking, and then plans to reopen on Thursday, November 20th. Services will be limited for the opening weekend, but there will be food and drinks available at Lucy Crawford’s Food Court inside the base lodge.

Lift tickets for this weekend are $72, but you can reduce your payment by $10 if you bring goods for a food pantry drive.

Bretton Woods had a busy offseason, with various notable additions. This includes the replacement of the Bethlehem Express chairlift, a new double-black diamond glade, and snowmaking upgrades.

Other Early New Hampshire Openings

Other ski resorts in the Granite State could soon join them. Loon Mountain has commenced snowmaking operations with its state-of-the-art system and plans to open on November 21st. Other mountains, like Cannon, Cranmore, Tenney, and Waterville Valley, plan to open later this month. However, it is worth noting that Waterville opened its upper mountain today for ski and snowboarding athletes.
