Flying to a ski resort isn’t cheap, but three Wyoming ski areas are giving travelers a pretty good reason to book an early flight this winter. Visitors arriving at Jackson Hole Airport can head straight from the plane to the slopes and ski or snowboard for free at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee Resort or Snow King Mountain.
The promotion is available during the 2026-27 ski season, with each resort offering complimentary lift access on the same day travelers arrive. Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee are providing half-day tickets, while Snow King is offering a full-day ticket.
The deal isn’t limited to travelers flying a particular airline. Eligible visitors simply need proof that they arrived at Jackson Hole Airport that day, along with matching identification.
Three Ski Resorts, Three Free Lift Ticket Offers
The participating mountains have different operating dates, ticket benefits and blackout periods.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort: Travelers can receive a complimentary half-day lift ticket from November 27, 2026, through the resort’s closing day. The promotion excludes December 19 through January 2, January 15-18 and February 13-20. Tickets are subject to resort capacity limits.
Grand Targhee Resort: The resort is offering free half-day lift tickets from November 20, 2026, through April 18, 2027. Blackout periods include December 24 through January 3 and February 12-15.
Snow King Mountain: Visitors can claim a free lift ticket valid for all operating lifts on their arrival day from December 4, 2026, through March 21, 2027. According to Snow King’s official promotion, there are no blackout dates. The mountain also offers skiing until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, giving travelers arriving later in the afternoon a chance to take advantage of the deal.
Snow King is the closest of the three ski areas to Jackson Hole Airport, typically about a 20-minute drive. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is approximately 30 to 40 minutes away in Teton Village, while Grand Targhee is about 90 minutes away on the opposite side of the Teton Range. Winter road conditions can significantly affect travel times, particularly over Teton Pass.
How to Claim a Free Lift Ticket
To qualify, travelers must fly into Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) and present a boarding pass or flight confirmation showing their name, arrival date and airport destination. A matching photo ID is also required.
The complimentary tickets are valid only on the date of arrival. Someone landing late in the evening cannot save the free skiing for the following morning, even if a flight delay prevents them from reaching the mountain before closing.
Ski and snowboard rentals, lessons and transportation are not included.
Snow King recommends reserving a complimentary ticket online before traveling, although walk-up registration is available. Travelers can collect their tickets at Snow King Mountain Sports, located at 400 E. Snow King Ave. Guests visiting the other two mountains should confirm ticket redemption details directly with the resorts before their trip.
Jackson Hole Airport has another unusual distinction. According to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, it is the only commercial airport in the United States located entirely within a national park, Grand Teton National Park.
For travelers planning a ski vacation in the Tetons, the promotion offers a chance to squeeze some extra skiing into a trip without paying for another lift ticket. The biggest factor will be booking a flight that arrives early enough to get from the airport to the mountain while the lifts are still running.
