Injured hiker airlifted from New York trail.

Last week, on November 8th at around 12:45pm, the Ray Brook Dispatch in New York received a call about an injured hiker at the intersections of Algonquin and Iroquois Mountain trails.

The hiker had an unstable leg injury and was located around six miles from the nearest trailhead. Fortunately New York State Police Aviation was conducting a training nearby at the time and Pilot Hogan was able to respond to the call.

Forest Ranger Rooney harnessed the injured 20-year-old from Ontario and Ranger H. Praczkajlo hoisted the patient to the helictoper. Care was then transferred to Lake Placid EMS at the Lake Placid Airport.

All resources had cleared the scene by 4:10pm. Huge props to all of those involved in the successful rescue.
