LA2028 announces mountain bike venue.

The LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games organization has officially announced the mountain biking venue for the 2028 Summer Olympic games. The events will take place at the Industry Hills Mountain Bike course in the City of Industry.

Industry Hills

Built into a hilltop in the San Gabriel Valley, the Industry Hills Mountain Bike course will take riders through non-stop, action-packed terrain. It features twists, turns, drops, jumps, varied terrain and great areas for spectators to watch. The venue highlights Los Angeles’ unmatched access to nature right in the city. The mountain biking event is the only event currently set to take place in the City of Industry.

There are a vast number of event venues for the 2028 Summer Olympics in LA, ranging from the Long Beach Zone all the way to the OKC Zone in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City will be hosting both canoe slalom and softball. The road cycling will take place along Venice Beach. The men will race 200km and the women will race 120km.

Mountain Biking in the Olympics

Mountain biking made its debut in the Olympics at the Atlanta Games in 1998 with a cross-country event for both men and women. Riders compete on a 4 to 6 kilometer course, completing multiple laps throughout the competition. Cross-country is the only mountain bike event scheduled for the 2028 Olympics, but far from the only bike event.

Other bike events include the road races, which include both an overall race and an individual time trial for men and women. Additionally BMX is represented in both freestyle and race taking place in the Valley Zone.

Track Cycling features the most events, including team sprint, sprint, keirin, team pursuit, omnium, and madison for men and women. Those events will take place at the Carson Velodrome in the Cason Zone. Other events taking place in the Carson Zone include archery, rugby sevens, field hockey, and tennis.
