The Great Trango Tower is a towering, near 20,000 foot (6,000 meters) granite spire in Pakistan’s Karakoram. Its towering heights look perfect for enormous big wall climbing. It does not look like the kind of place one would try to ski, but Jim Morrison, Christina Lustenburger, and Chantel Astorga didn’t let that stop them.
They successfully accomplished the first descent back in 2024, capturing the decent on camera for the North Face movie Trango. Capturing the first descent on drone was an operation of its own, requiring some serious planning and execution to get in-air footage where helicopters couldn’t reach.
