Kayaker sends 114 Foot Keyhole Falls in British Columbia

Whitewater kayaker Aniol Serrasolses hails from the Catalonia region of Spain but his search for unique waterways has taken him around the world.

Of all his adventures, his trip to Keyhole Falls on Lillooet River in BC, Canada is one of his memorable. The 3,000-cubic-meter-per-minute flow is fed by coastal mountain snowmelt and is quite nearly impossible to scout.

After a failed initial mission to paddle the falls, Aniol and the crew returned to the area and conducted depth tests. These tests indicated cause for concern but with no line of sight between Aniol and the support crew and dying walkie-talkies, communication between the two went to non-existent.

Despite conclusive reconnaissance on the safety of the landing zone, Aniol decided to run the 114 waterfall and became the first person to ever do so.
