British Columbia — After a snowy winter at Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, the ski resort is capping it off with two more days on the snow.

Yesterday, Mount Washington Alpine Resort announced that they are constructing a snow rail park that guests will be able to access on Father’s Day Weekend. The park crew has set up a rail park adjacent to the top terminal of the Eagle Chair. After skiing, guests will be allowed to download from the Eagle Chair.

Accessing the park will be free for season passholders (2024-25 or 25-26). If you don’t have a pass, tickets are only $19 CAD. Chairlift and ZipTours will also be open as part of their summer preview weekend.

Unlike other recent terrain park sessions, this will come through leftover snow that wasn’t tarped off.

Mt. Washington had quite the snowy 2024-25 ski season. Thanks to heavy early-season snowfall, Mt. Washington had its earliest opening in eight years. At times, the British Columbian ski resort had the deepest snowpack in North America. Their season total was nine meters (354 inches), which was among their fifteen deepest seasons in recorded history. This snow led to a season extension, with them reopening for one more weekend in April. Their deepest season ever was during the 2010-11 season, where they received 19 meters (748 inches) of snow.

The other time Mt. Washington had lift-serviced skiing on Father’s Day Weekend was back in 2022. During that winter, they received around 100 fewer centimeters than this past ski season. However, the snowpack melted quicker this time around, hence only the terrain park setup being open for this weekend.

Mt. Washington will officially open for the summer season on June 27th. Some of the summer attractions include hiking trails, lift-serviced mountain biking, ZipTour (ziplines), disc golf, and dining.
