Seemingly out of nowhere, Mount Washington Alpine Resort located on Vancouver Island, Canada is reopening for skiing and riding this Father’s Day weekend.

Yeah. That’s right. A ski resort in North America is reopening for Father’s Day weekend. What a time to be alive.

The resort will spin its Whiskey Jack chairlift from 10AM-3PM on Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th, weather permitting. Dads ski for free, and lift tickets for the general public are only $29.

I love everything about this story. It’s so awesome to see a ski resort basically say “screw it” and reopen for skiing and riding in the middle of June. I mean, how many other resorts would have the guts to do something like that?

Check out the full details about this weekend’s operating plan at Mount Washington below:

So, you know how everyone is talking about the interesting island weather keeping us on our toes… We’re rolling with it. Get your toes back into those ski boots and feel the rush of sliding down the snow one last time before bike and beach season is in full force.

In comes Snowmer Ski & Soar: we’ll be skiing and ziplining this Father’s Day weekend, Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19! Weather permitting, the Whiskey Jack Chair will be spinning from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm offering access to limited terrain, Coaster and the Terrain Park. The Eagle’s Flight ZipTour will also be open for tours hourly, soaring high above the skiers and snowboarders enjoying slushy spring laps below.
Season Pass Holders from winter 2021/22 or those who purchased Passes early for winter 2022/23 will receive complimentary lift access for this special weekend. Single-day lift tickets will also be offered for at the Ticket Windows at $29 for adults, $19 youth/senior, $9 children, and all father’s ski for free! To experience the ZipTour, advanced bookings online or over the phone are encouraged to take flight on the 4-stages of unique zip lines.”
