Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah has announced the debut of a new high-speed quad lift and two significant terrain expansions of 165 acres for the Winter 2026–27 season.

The Story of Sundance Mountain Resort

The Electric Horesman Express, a new Doppelmayr lift, will run from near the base of the Wildwood Lift and traverse across teh Far East Ridge, bringing skiers and snowboarders to the top of Red’s Lift at Bearclaw Summit. The lift will allow skiers and snowboarders to access top-to-bottom runs on new and existing “back mountain” terrain. Two new areas will bring 165 acres of new terrain with 1,850 feet of continuous vertical, including a new bowl adjacent to Bishop’s Bowl and multiple new trails.

“This project represents Sundance Mountain Resort’s most significant mountain expansion since 1985 and will further elevate the ski/rider experience on our mountain while offering new view corridors and perspectives never seen before – one of the reasons I am personally excited for the new Far East ridge run. This project is on the back end of four years of on-mountain improvements – from the opening of our Outlaw Express Lift (2021), Wildwood Lift and terrain expansion (2022), and a vastly improved snowmaking system – all culminating in a consistent and efficient mountain experience for our loyal locals and destination guests.” – Chad Linebaugh, President and General Manager of Sundance Mountain Resort.

The updates are part of Sundance Mountain Resort’s “Act II” improvements, bringing the mountain into its next era. In early 2026, the resort’s brand-new ski-in/ski-out accommodation, the Inn at Sundance Mountain Resort, is set to open. Visitors to Sundance Mountain Resort will get a preview of the new Far East terrain during the 2025/26 ski and snowboard season. Full operations are set to launch in the 2026/27 winter season.
