Cheers to the 60 volunteers who sported high visibility vests and claw grabbers to help clean up Grand Teton National Park last week.
The crew comprised of local community members and staff spent the day cleaning up an 8-mile stretch of Highway 89 inside the park and removed a whooping 980 pounds of litter. Grand Teton asks if you visit a National Park this summer, do you part to leave it as clean as you found it:
“Do your part to keep parks clean by packing out your trash and picking up litter you come across while visiting. With millions of visitors each year, keeping this place clean is a shared responsibility—not just for those rocking neon vests, though we highly recommend one.” -Grand Teton National Park

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK STATEMENT:
980 pounds of litter, divided by 8 miles, plus 60 people, multiplied by one safety vest per person equals a whole lot of neon and an infinite amount of passion for preserving this incredible landscape.
Thanks to volunteers and staff from across the Jackson Hole and Grand Teton community, we picked up nearly HALF A TON of litter along Highway 89 inside the park last week! From cans and bottles to socks and neckties, the roadside finds were weird and wide-ranging—but the biggest find of the day was the shared sense of pride in caring for our public lands.
Huge thanks to all who showed up (and those who kept park ops rolling behind the scenes), and to our law enforcement rangers for keeping everyone visible and protected.
