Police in Frisco, Colorado, have arrested a suspect in the Meadow Creek wildfire that occurred on public land between Wildflower Lane, Meadow Drive, Whole Foods, and I-70 on Saturday, May 10.

The fire was reported around 5pm on Saturday, growing to about 6.3 acres before firefighters with the Red, White & Blue Fire Protection District were able to get it under control. No injuries or structure damage were reported, though the fire did shut down portion of Eastbound I-70 for a period.

The suspect is not believed to be from the area. They currently remain in custody and the case will go to the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. As the case is currently under investigation, no other details will be made available at this point.

The 6.3 acres where the fire burned were largely a part of the Meadow Creek conservation easement, a 10.88-acre conservation easement designated in 2022 with wetlands and an adjacent riparian area and floodplain buffer.
