Smokey Bear takes some turns at Timberline Lodge.

Smokey Bear visited Timberline Lodge in Oregon to make some turns and spread knowledge about National Wildfire Awareness Month.

In many states, May is recognized as Wildfire Awareness Month as the weather warms and wildland fuels, begin to dry out. The month is used to educate and remind the public about preventing wildfires and protecting yourself, your family, and your property from the flames. Throughout 2024, 60% of reported fires were human caused in Oregon. More information on Wildfire Awareness Month is available here.

Monday, May 12, is the last day to purchase a spring pass for use at Timberline Lodge. Spring passes cost just $234, providing a direct-to-lift pass valid 7-days a week until May 26th. This year the pass became valid on-mountain on March 10th.

Skiing and snowboarding at Timberline Lodge is still going strong and will likely continue late into the summer with the Palmer Express high-speed quad. Depending on snow, Timberline Lodge could stay open until September.
