Kashu Sato's unbelievable landing.
Kashu Sato's unbelievable landing.

17-year-old Japanese skier Kashu Sato is already skiing like a beast, taking advantage of the deep Japan powder to throw some gnarly twists and spins. But this recent spring air might be one of the wildest/most confusing things we’ve seen on skis in a while.

The air itself is pretty standard. Impressive for sure, but nothing incomprehensible. It’s the landing that really bends the mind. Kashu looks like he’s going to land facing forward, but at the last moment he twists his skis in the opposite direction of his spin and lands switch.

If this kid is landing wild tricks like this at just 17, it’s not hard to believe that he’ll be doing some incredible stuff in the next several years. We’ll certainly be keeping an eye on his path.
