Psychedelic mushrooms and other drugs led a woman to call for help after believing her boyfriend had injured his leg while skiing near Cucumber Gulch in the Breckenridge Area.

According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, the woman called for help after her boyfriend fell and apparently injured his leg, leading to a response from deputies and the Summit Rescue Group.

The groups arrived and were able to assist the couple in returning to the trailhead. But upon further investigation it became clear that the man was not actually injured. Instead, the woman had become confused about the situation because she was under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms and other drugs, leading to her calling for help.

Deputies stayed with the couple, both of whom were unharmed, until a sober ride was able to pick them up.
