The longest skis that Line makes are generally in a range just above 190cm. The Optic 114, for example, is available in a 192cm length. Most people want to pick skis that are somewhere between their chin and the top of their head, with shorter skis being easier to manage and control and longer skis being more stable at higher speeds.
Today you’d have a fairly hard time getting your hands on a pair of skis above 200cm, but they do exist. Anything beyond 220cm and you’re for sure out of luck. Unless you’re willing to make your own pair of skis of course.
The Sickos crew took two pairs of line skis, cut the tips off, and smacked them together with bindings in middle, creating a pair of 11 foot skis that are absolutely too big for anyone. The fact that they’re able to do anything on them is seriously impressive.
According to Guinness World Records, the longest skis ever were 1,820 feet long and worn by 170 skiers in Arendal, Norway, in 2011. It’s not clarified as to whether or not these skis were downhill or nordic, but they apparently traveled just above 44 feet.
