Danbury, New Hampshire — It’s shaping up to be a big week at Ragged Mountain, as the New Hampshire ski resort will be celebrating its 60th anniversary.
To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Ragged Mountain Resort is hosting a three-day celebration this upcoming weekend.
On Friday, lift tickets are being offered for only $19.65 (not including fees). This is an online only offer, as it won’t be available at the ticket office. After these 500 tickets sell out, lift tickets will cost $60. On Friday, there will be a DJ spinning tunes, and people are asked to wear vintage gear like jumpsuits and neon jackets/snowpants.
In addition, lift tickets are being offered on March 22nd and 23rd for $60 (not including fees). On Saturday, Ragged will continue its birthday with its signature event: the Bump N’ Jump. This mogul contest, which happens on the Lower Exhibition trail, is a bump filled-course with a few jumps and rails. The competition will run from 12 to 2 p.m., and retro clothes and gear are encouraged. Other Saturday festivities will include free birthday cupcakes, face painting, drink specials from the Flying Goose and Tamworth, and Fireworks at dusk.
Sunday will feature two exciting events. The first is a family ski down at 11am from the Summit Six chairlift. Led by John Barker, this event will connect the people who helped shape Ragged into what it is today. There will also be a 60s themed party, with retro gear being recommended.
Opened back in 1965 with just a T-Bar and a double chairlift to the summit, Ragged has come a long way. Ragged is now home to 57 trails and glades, five lifts (including two high-speed chairlifts), 250 skiable acres, and a vertical drop of 1250 feet.
Ragged Mountain’s projected closing date for the 2024-25 season is April 5th.
