There are some very intense and difficult runs at Snowbird in Utah, some of which very few people have ever had the opportunity to ski. But few of them will ever have the name recognition that Corbet’s Couloir at Jackson Hole has. Corbet’s might not be the most difficult run in the world, or even the most difficult run at Jackson Hole, but it’s naturally a perfect venue for quite the show.
Utah skier Hunter Hansen has identified what he calls “Snowbird’s Mini Corbet’s”, a gnarly chute located between Rasta Chutes and Mark Malu Fork. Petty impressive run, but does it earn such a title?
I think there’s an argument to be made that this is more difficult than Corbet’s Couloir, but it depends on how you look at it. Corbet’s Couloir has more of a drop but careful skiers and snowboards can work their way down the goat path without having to leave the ground. This chute seems to have a mandatory air. Maybe mini S&S Couloir is a more appropriate title?
