Max Hitzig skis with his dad.

22-year-old professional skier Max Hitzig shared some footage from steep couloir skiing with his dad. If you’ve seen Hitzig ski, you probably wouldn’t be surprised to know that his dad absolutely rips as well.

Max actually points to his dad as a big reason as to why he skis the way he does. In a rider spotlight done back in October 2024, he explained that his dad, as a mountain guide, taught him how to ski. He also points to his dad as a teacher of safety and as someone who really shaped his skiing technique.

Hitzig is not competing in this year’s Freeride World Tour despite winning the FWT Champion Title during the 2024 season. He did act as a forerunner for this year’s Fieberbrunn Pro, though, and he’s stayed very active as a professional throughout this season.
