Riding snowmobiles can be an amazing way to explore glacial zones but it does come with some unique risks including collapsing ice bridges and crevasses that can sneak up on you an instant.
This rider was going way too fast in unfamiliar terrain and consequently rode over a crevasse and went flying. Crevasses are common in steep elevation change with convex terrain and this rider should have recognized the signs and been riding slower while constantly scanning for holes.
Luckily for him, his rate of speed actually played in his favor and he cleared the crevasse rather than nosing directly into the wall. While he went airborne and came down pretty hard, this outcome was likely better than his sled and body bluntly absorbing the impact.
