Jackson Hole, Wyoming — For skiers who are big fans of coffee table books like The Man Behind The Maps and Fifty Classic Descents of North America, a new Kickstarter has been launched for a book that will tell the story of the rise of extreme skiing and riding in Jackson Hole and the Tetons.

Today, action photographer Wade McKoy launched a Kickstarter campaign for his new book, The Arc of Skiing Jackson Hole, 45 years behind the lens. The book is part autobiography, part photo collage. In the book, Wade describes his past forty-five years in documenting the rise of skiing in Jackson Hole and the Tetons. The coffee table book will include over 500 photos from Wade’s career exploring the Tetons. He has spent these years capturing extreme skiers and riders taking on some of the most daring descents on the planet. This 12×10 inch, 384-page book will be a must-read for avid skiers and snowboarders, action photography enthusiasts, and Jackson Hole locals.
At the time of publication for this article, McKoy has raised more than $18,000, and is aiming to raise around $80,000 to get the book published. Click here to help support this Kickstarter.

Kickstarter Description:
I’ve been photographing pro skiers in Jackson Hole for the past 45 years, since 1976. For a pledge of $120 you’ll receive my new book which captures the history and culture of of ski life in Jackson Hole and the Tetons during this transformative time in our sport. Receive three books for a pledge of $342, and six books for a $648 pledge, a savings of 5% and 10%. Mailing is additional, $20 for a single book, while multiple book orders enjoy a lower mailing cost per book.
When my campaign is fully funded and ends, your credit cards will then be charged the amount of your pledge, plus the mailing fee. It then takes up to three weeks before I have those funds to cover the costs of printing and delivery of the books. Taking all of that into account, the books will arrive to your homes and businesses in June. If the campaign does not reach its funding goal, the credit cards are not charged. That’s the beauty of Kickstarter.
Here is what some early reviewers are saying about it:

It’s a story about skiing in Jackson Hole and the Tetons and nicely balances history with memoir—my absolute favorite kind of writing.” — Dina Mishev, editor Jackson Hole magazine
“What a document! This is as much history as it is art. I can see this book sitting in every bookstore in every ski town in the West and selling quite well.” — Porter Fox, author of Category Five
“A wonderful legacy piece. It will have a place in peoples homes, remain open, and be revisited often.” — Casey Sheahan, former editor of Powder
