Didier Cuche's final run
Didier Cuche's final run

Just remembering this incredible moment when Swiss ski racer Didier Cuche took the final run of his 17-year World Cup career wearing vintage wool ski gear, wooden skis, poles and leather boots.

Its a tradition for World Cup skiers to take their final race in whatever fashion they choose and Didier’s old school approach delighted the crowd. He may have finished the GS course in Austria 2 minutes off the race leader but he won in our books.

To top it off, Didier executed his trademark ski flip to perfection. This remains one of the coolest send offs to a professional skiing career. Bravo Didier!
