Named after Barry Corbet (the mountaineer who first spotted it in 1960), Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s most infamous run features a 20 foot drop with a 50° pitch, putting it firmly among the steepest inbound slopes in North America.

Corbet’s Couloir was first skied by ski patroller Lonnie Ball in 1967 and in the ensuing 58 years it has earned its reputation as a proving ground for skiers and snowboarders bold enough to step up to the edge and make the intimidating drop.

On any given day at Corbet’s you may see skiers conservatively inching their way down “the goat path” or you might get lucky and witness someone taking the road less traveled like this unknown skier who decided to send it from the cliff band adjacent to more manageable entry point. Jackson Hole skiers are something else!
