There’s something so fun about watching professional skiers rip on lift-accessed ski resorts. Obviously the best clips are usually off resort in the backcountry, accessed by long tours, snowmobiles, or helicopters, but seeing how pros navigate the same terrain that you and I can easily access with just a lift ticket is sort of refreshing, in a way.
Sage Cattabriga-Alosa‘s YouTube series “Let’s Take A Lap” sets out to do just that, following Sage and his friends (often times professional skiers) as they rip around your favorite resorts. In his most recent upload, Sage and friend Andrew Orlich take on the early December hard pack at Mt. Bachelor before getting up to the summit in the mid-afternoon.
Early December was off to a great start in the PNW, and things were stacking up at Mt. Bachelor. Conditions were firm, but everything was skiing great. I linked up with Andrew Orlich where we did a couple back to back laps on the same line, trading the Go-Pro back and forth. Then had a surprising summit opening mid afternoon with Jacob Callahan, and Dan Norkunus.
