Brattleboro, Vermont — A great example of it being the season of giving came from Stratton Mountain this week.

This week, Stratton Mountain Resort revealed that they temporarily gave the Brattleboro Ski Hill in Vermont two of its new HKD fan guns. The local non-profit ski hill relies on older snow guns, so being able to use these during a cold period was an enormous boost for its snowmaking operations. Stratton’s goal was to help make skiing and riding more accessible to the local community.

In addition, Stratton is offering free lift tickets for the first fifty guests at the Brattleboro Ski Hill’s opening date, which is currently set for December 31st. After that, lift tickets will return to its typical hefty price tag: $5. People that say skiing is too expensive are punching the air right now.

Stratton is well into its 2024-25 ski season, with 86 trails and 12 lifts currently open. This trail count has grown quickly thanks to $2 million of extensive snowmaking improvements that were made last offseason.
