Sled dogs wait at a red light.
Sled dogs wait at a red light.

Dog sledding looks like a very cool experience all around, until the dogs decide to do their own thing while you’re trying to direct them. Dog musher Ashley was taken for a bit of a surprise tour through West Yellowstone as her dogs decided to go their own way.

As Ashley explains, the dogs were supposed to take one right turn and one left turn before getting on a snowmobile trail, but the lead dog Opie decided instead to take a left turn through West Yellowstone instead.

The best part of the entire video is that the dogs are stopped waiting patiently at the red light, and only decide to go rogue once the light is green. It seems likely that Ashely gave them directions to stop and start again, but the fact that they only decided to stop listening after it was safe is golden.
