Mount Rainier National Park has announced that they’re seeking properties to lease for park employees in the spring, summer and fall seasons throughout 2025 (March-November). A limit in housing within and near the park has forced the park’s housing office to look for expanded opportunities for seasonal staff outside the park.
Mount Rainier houses around 240 employees, both permanent and seasonal, throughout the busy summer season. Any outside houses are required to have a separate bedroom and bathroom from the landowner (ideally at least two bedrooms and one bathroom) and have smoke detectors and full-sized kitchens (ideally with fire suppression systems). RV pads must be able to accommodate a 40×12 foot RV and have full hookups.
All offered spots must be located within 50 miles of Paradise within Mount Rainier National Park and be available for rent from March to November 2025. Those interested in offering a location can reach out the the park’s housing office through 360-569-6232. Leasing agreements and payment processes will be coordinated by the housing office.
“Mount Rainier National Park continues to search for solutions for housing issues that affect the park’s ability to attract new employees. We were pleased to be selected to participate in this leasing program that could both support adjacent communities and provide supplemental housing for employees during our busiest seasons of the year.” – Greg Dudgeon, park superintendent.
