Live cameras at ski resorts across Colorado and Utah are currently showing some serious snowfall. At Aspen Highlands, the snow stake already has well over a foot, and plenty more is on its way (As I’m typing this out from Denver International Airport, I just overheard a woman saying that her flight to Aspen has been cancelled due to weather). The current storm will continue to slam both states throughout the day, but it’s likely to continue into tomorrow morning in Colorado. If meteorologist Chris Tomer‘s snow forecast comes true, many skiers and snowboarders will be very happy.

With 20 years of weather consulting and meteorology experience, Chris Tomer is a go to weather forecaster for winter recreators across North America. His love for skiing and trail running shine through his winter weather forecasts. Plus, his experience stretches to consulting for major expeditions around the world, including to all fourteen of the world’s 8,000 meter peaks.

So what will the actual snow total look like? If Tomer’s forecast is correct, this storm could bring 15 more inches to some Utah ski areas, specifically to Alta, while areas around park city are looking at closer to 8 inches. Meanwhile in Colorado, the Elk Mountains look like they’ll get the best snowfall in the state. Crested Butte could see 23 inches through Wednesday, while many of the Aspen mountains will likely see around 18″. The rest of the state isn’t missing out though. Eldora might see a foot, Winter Park and Loveland could see 15″, and Silverton could see 19″. It’s a good few days for Colorado.

About Chris Tomer:

Tomer earned a B.S. in Meteorology from Valparaiso University graduating with Honors – where he also played basketball. Tomer minored in mathematics and broadcasting. Tomer is a fully certified meteorologist having earned the CBM and NWA Seal’s of Approval.
