Killington, Vermont – This writer is glad that he decided not to go to Killington today.
This morning, Killington Resort shut down its North Ridge and K-1 Gondola lifts due to an “electrical transformer issue.” There have been rumblings of an electrical issue on the Killington Locals group, and heavy winds have led to power line issues at the summit and North Ridge terrain pod.
Today, Green Mountain Power will be working on fixing the issue. Killington will refund individuals who bought tickets and give Ikon passholders their day back so they can use it again this season. It sounds like everyone made it off the mountain without issue, thanks to Killington running the lifts on backup.
Killington plans to reopen tomorrow at 9 a.m.
Update 11/25: Killington reopened today thanks to a pretty cool contraption.
