Waterville Valley Resort is introducing a new shuttle tracking service this season, allowing guests to see where shuttles are in real time. But before that’s launched, the resort is asking for help naming its five new shuttles.
So far the contest appears to just be based on the top comments on a Facebook post, with Waterville Valley explaining that top names will be chosen based on viewer’s votes. It seems like the voting is based on likes, though it isn’t 100% clear.
Names in the comments range from the serious (Alpine Express, Slopeside Shuttle) to the not-so-serious (Bussy McBusface, Mean Jean’s Bus Machine). My personal favorite is probably the “Waterville Whippers”, but there are a host to go through.
As for the shuttle tracking system, I wish more resorts had that going on. It doesn’t seem like that hard of a feature to include and it could really make life easier. You’d be able to perfectly time closing out your tab at the bar, so you can walk right onto the shuttle without even thinking about it. One more run or call it a day? Check to see if there’s even a shuttle near to pick you up!
