Wild footage from a group ice-climbing in an area near the basecamp of K2 where an avalanche tumbled down a mountain top creating massive powder cloud that swept through the camp.
Thankfully these climbers were far enough away to safely appreciate the raw power of the slide, although they weren’t looking forward to seeing the state of their tents when the returned to camp.
Summiting the highest peaks in the world necessarily involves a fair bit of time acclimatizing to the altitude. Downtime in basecamp is spent with a wide variety of diversions including ice-climbing, exploratory hikes, snowball fights, Jenga and UNO.
