GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, Montana – A search is underway for a 32-year-old missing climber in Glacier National Park. Grant Marcuccio, from Whitefish, Montana, went missing on Sunday.
Maruccio separated from his party while hiking Heavens Peak to McPartland Peak, last seen heading towards McPartland. He did not arrive at a pre-planned rendezvous point as expected, and rangers were alerted Sunday evening.
Glacier National Park Rangers are now seeking assistance from the public. Maruccio is described as a “32-year-old Caucasian male with short brown hair, brown eyes, 6’, about 175 pounds. He may be wearing brown shorts, and a brown and white checkered shirt.”
Search flights lead by Two Bear Air began on Monday, flying over the Heavens Peak on the 19th and the 20th. Yesterday, August 21, a Forest Service helicopter assisted in the search. Rangers and search teams have conducted on-ground searches as well.
Anyone who may have any information related to the search, or anyone who’s been in the area and may have spotted someone who fit the description, are asked to contact the tip line at 406-888-7077.
