Crossing a crevasse on Mount Everest.

MOUNT EVEREST – YouTuber and climber Ryan Mitchell reached the summit of Mount Everest in mid-May, documenting much of the process on YouTube. He made it up and down without injury, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have any close calls. He shared every near-death moment in a compilation on his channel.

Mitchell clearly made a few mistakes and had some moments where he wouldn’t have survived without his guide, but he made it. He also talks about mistakes he made while training for Everest, including during his climb of Denali. The Massachusetts native didn’t really begin training for the climb until 2023.

He actually trained for the route by climbing up and down Wachusett Mountain in Massachusetts multiple times with a 35-pound backpack. NBC Boston report’s that the Everest summit took Mitchell a total of 42 days. You can watch a video of him summiting here, and a video of him descending here.
