Shuttle bus auction @ Zion National Park
Shuttle bus auction @ Zion National Park

Zion National Park is replacing their fleet of Eldorado Transmark Liquid Propane Passenger Buses with all new electric vehicles and they enlisted Ranger Mike to let the general public know you can own a piece of National Park history by placing bid on the government auction that is running through August 28th.

The current fleet of Zion Nation Park shuttle buses began service in 2000 with an expected life of 10-year life. 23 years later they have finally been decommissioned to be replaced by 26 battery-electric bus fleet and 27 charging stations thanks in large part to a $33 million federal transit grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

14 of the old propane-powered shuttle buses are currently up for auction with a starting bid of $25. The buses are in varying conditions (some inoperable) and sold “as is” so make sure to carefully read the descriptions provided before placing a bid. Inspection are available by appointment and are highly recommended prior to bidding. Bidders are responsible for packing and removal. BID HERE!

ZION NATIONAL PARK:

These are the first of an entirely new fleet of battery-electric buses that will replace the current propane-powered vehicles. Delivery of more battery electric buses is scheduled to continue in the months ahead.
