Worcester County, Massachusetts — The MLB season is nearing its end, with the World Series’ third game tonight. Most MLB players are either golfing, in Cancun, training for redemption, or on the couch after a long season. However, one player made a trip to a ski resort to explore some fall foliage.

Yesterday, Red Sox designated hitter Masataka Yoshida (known by most as Masa, Macho Man, or Yoshi) shared his trip to Wachusett Mountain in Massachusetts. He went to check out the foliage, which is at its peak right now. It’s unclear whether he took a scenic chairlift ride up or drove up the mountain. His pictures included the Polar Express, Wachusett’s new chairlift that debuted last December.

Sox fans were amused by Masa’s random visit to Wachusett, as he’s definitely got a cult following amongst avid Red Sox fans.

As for whether Masataka Yoshida (known by most as Masa, Macho Man, or Yoshi) will stick around in Boston, that’s uncertain. He’s entering the last year of his contract, which he signed with Boston back in 2022. He was solid at DH this year, but an August injury derailed his season. The possible MLB lockout could also impact whether he plays next season. However, the Sox appear to want to trade Jarren Duran, which could open up more playing time for Yoshi.

Whatever happens, at least Masataka Yoshida knows there’s mountain skiing minutes away.
