PORTILLO, Chile – Ski Portillo has seen a monumental amount of snowfall so far this season, and their official opening day is still yet to come. The mountain has already received more than 12 feet of snow, and a whole lot more is still on the way.
According to a press release from the resort, current forecasts have them receiving as much as 110 inches of snowfall through the current storm cycle. Unfortunately, this means Ski Portillo was forced to make the difficult decision to delay their opening day, originally set for June 20, to June 26. But this could mean the resort would officially start its season with over 20 inches of snowfall.
