Black Diamond Equipment, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, has issued a voluntary recall for the 2024 Neve Strap Crampons.

According to a news release from the company, screws connecting the plastic heel cup to the aluminum heel unit of the crampons can loosen, allowing the heel cup to detach from the unit and create a fall hazard. This has been reported three times in the field, though there are no related injuries.

There have been three reported instances of this happening in the field with no reported injuries. We’ve acted proactively to address this issue in the most expeditious manner possible.” – Black Diamond
