COLORADO – Three of Colorado’s final five open ski resorts are set to close this weekend, but that’s not for a lack of snow. Breckenridge, Loveland, and Copper are all stopping their lifts for the summer on Sunday, May 12, while both Arapahoe Basin and Winter Park are still yet to announce a closing day.

None of the three closing resorts have a base snow depth less than 64 inches. Meanwhile, all three of those resorts have snow in the forecast for the next few days, with Loveland Ski Area forecasting up to 5 inches of new snowfall throughout the day on Saturday and another inch throughout closing day.

Meanwhile things are looking equally as good at the two yet-to-announce-their-closing-day resorts, with Arapahoe Basin forecasting 1-2″ of snowfall throughout the day today and Winter Park snowfall throughout the entire weekend. Arapahoe Basin currently sits at a base depth of 65″ with 9 out of 9 lifts continuing to spin this morning, while Winter Park is down to 6 of 24 lifts with a base depth of 73″.

This weekend is full of resort events, with Arapahoe Basin hosting their Slush N’ Spokes on Saturday, along with plenty of live music and the conclusion of their Snow N’ Throw Disk Golf Tournament. At Winter Park, the party on the Jane Beach is going strong, with live music, giveaways, drink specials and more on Saturdays from 11am to 4pm.
