Jackson, Wyoming — It’s shaping up to be a monumental summer at Snow King Mountain Resort. Following years of construction, Snow King’s Observatory & Planetarium will make its debut. Its opening day will be filled with festivities, including an appearance from a legendary scientist.

Snow King’s Observatory & Planetarium will open on June 1st. The facility will feature a 24-foot AstroHaven dome, a 1-meter Planewave telescope, dark sky tours, and a thirty-seat planetarium.

The opening day event will be headlined by Bill Nye, the legendary scientist, who will be speaking at the venue. Tickets cost $50 for the regular opening day tickets and include access to the gondola, a trip inside the planetarium, and a speech and Q&A from Bill Nye. There will also be a chance to go later in the evening, from 9 pm to midnight, and experience the planetarium at night, which will cost $100. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here. Update 3 p.m.: Tickets to opening day and night have sold out, but tickets for other dates remain available.

This new attraction will add to Snow King’s already extensive lineup of offseason activities. Other attractions include zip lines, a mountain coaster, a treetop adventure course, alpine slides, scenic gondola rides, mini golf, a maze, a bungee trampoline, mountain biking, and hiking.

Snow King has definitely become a four-season destination, and this planetarium will make it one of the best ski resorts to visit for its summer attractions.
