If you’re interested in owning a piece of Michigan ski history consider putting in a bid for one these chairs from the Interconnect at The Highlands. Interconnect was one of the original chairlifts that has been operational since the resort’s opening in 1963. Funds will be allocated to the local community organizations including Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, Snow Angel Foundation Inc, Harbor Springs Area Historical Society and Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation. The Interconnect lift, which was originally named Little John and ran up between North and South Challenger, was relocated as part of the North Peak expansion during the early 1990s. Interconnect was one of the original chairlifts that has been operational since the resort’s opening in 1963.

Chair Requests: Requests for specific chairs/numbers are not available. Not all chair numbers are available and chair numbers cannot be reserved or pre-chosen. Availability is based on first-come, first-served.

Dimensions: The chairs are 112″ tall, 59″ wide, 26″ deep, and weigh 240 lbs. All chairs are unique and have their own sets of blemishes and imperfections.

  • Seat/pad and stem/basket are included
  • Chairs are for personal use only. Not for resale. Proceeds benefit a local nonprofit organization. 

If you are interested in purchasing a chair, please submit a qualifying bid by NOON on Thursday, April 25. The top 99 bidders over $500 will take a chair home!

Pickup Required

Shipping is NOT available. Chairs must be picked up at The Highlands during one of the available pickup dates/times. 

Chairs will be available for pickup on May 11 or May 25 from 11 AM – 3 PM in the Day Lodge overflow parking lot. If you need assistance loading your chair, we will load your purchased chair into your truck or trailer but will not be responsible for any damage during loading. Pickup and transport of your chair will require a truck or trailer, and you will want to bring appropriate means of securing the chair for transport. 

At the time of pick up, you will also need to complete a bill of sale.
