Ogden, Utah- On December 22, 1970, somebody was awarded two lift tickets to Alta Ski Area from Ogden Chrome Plating and Bumper Exchange, Inc. Ryan Kendrick recently discovered them and asked Alta on Threads whether they were still valid.

You’d have to imagine most ski areas wouldn’t accept this voucher. It’s been over fifty years, and lift ticket prices have increased drastically over time. However, Alta had a great P/R moment on Threads and agreed to give them the free lift tickets.

Deer Valley tried to join in on the fun, but the Utah ski resort didn’t even exist back then.

In terms of the business that offered them, they amazingly still exist. First opened back in 1959, Ogden Chrome is a “small show chrome plating and bumper restoration shop.” The shop “specializes in triple plate chrome, nickel and copper plating.”
