ARAPAHOE BASIN, Colorado – Summer activities are soon to expand on the slopes of Arapahoe Basin. The Colorado ski resort announced an all new, state-of-the-art water park at the top of the mountain today.

According to a post from the resort’s social media, the new addition to the Master Development Plan will sit at nearly 13,000 feet, bringing kiddie pools, tube slides, and a new, faster way to descend the Via Ferrata. The water park will be hike access, providing a new, more enticing reason to spend time at Arapahoe Basin this summer.

Following the resort’s commitment to remaining eco-friendly, the park sources only run-off water. At the end of the summer season, water from the slides and pools will be returned to the water shed. The Basin’s net-water usage will not be increased by the water park expansion.

PLEASE NOTE: The park is closed in the winter time and directly at the entrance of the North Pole hiking gate. Please pardon the interruption of construction this winter — must be wearing helmet or hard hat to pass through the site. Construction begins today, April 1.

DISCLAIMER: Hopefully by now you’ve realized that this announcement coincides with the date. If you haven’t, happy April Fool’s Day!
