One of the biggest anniversaries in North American skiing this season is over at the ski co-op. First opened back in 1949, Mad River Glen is celebrating its 75th anniversary this season. Unlike other major ski resorts across the country, the Vermont ski resort hasn’t changed a lot over the past couple of decades, with them still having their narrow trails and that iconic single chair.
In honor of this milestone, a new Mad River Glen documentary will be making its debut this Friday in Burlington, Vermont. “Mad River Glen A 75-Year Fellowship of Skiers,” is a documentary that will cover the history of the legendary ski resort. The film, will have its a public premiere at the Main Street Landing Film House in Burlington, Vermont. Tickets are free, and there will be a cash bar for snowboarders to drink their sorrows away due to them not being allowed to ride the lifts there.
Sorry snowboarders, that was too good of a joke to pass up on. They were actually one of the first ski resorts to allow snowboarding, but I digress.
The film was made by Rick Moulton, who has an impressive filmography, especially when its comes to skiing. Rick, who started as an independent filmmaker back in 1972, has created skiing documentaries. This includes Legends of American Skiing and Passion for Snow, and other. Rick even produced another documentary: Spirit of a Classic, which was made for the fortieth anniversary of MRG.
We here at Unofficial Networks are looking forward to checking this documentary out when its released to the public.
