The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is working to locate a suspect involved in a shooting near Homewood Mountain Resort in Placer County on Monday. The San Francisco Chronicle reports the shooting occurred near the 5000 block of West Lake Boulevard.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and their condition is unknown. The suspect is still at large. A picture of the crime scene shared by the sheriff’s office shows the Swiss Lakewood Restaurant, which is closed on Mondays, cordoned off by police tape.

Homewood released the following statement about the incident:

“On Monday, January 29, local law enforcement responded to an incident around West Lake Boulevard and Silver Street at the Swiss Lakewood Restaurant. While this incident was not on resort grounds, the safety of our employees, guests, and community is our top priority, and we are continuing to monitor the situation.”

The shooting comes just days after police shot a man who was wielding a knife at Palisades Tahoe ski resort last Friday.
