After a brutal situation last week, the resilient Nordic Valley Ski Resort has bounced back. A fire that burned down their base lodge resulted in the Utah ski resort being closed for a couple of days. The resilient ski resort couldn’t be kept down for long though.

On Friday, Nordic Valley reopened its mountain for season passholders, and then for everyone on Saturday. Currently, they have twenty-three trails and three lifts open. The Apollo chairlift remains closed due to needed repairs, which is usually how skiers and riders access the Nordic Express. To reach the Nordic Express, they’re carrying guests with Alpina Sleds that are attached to a snowmobile.

Their base area services are currently limited, with them currently unable to offer lift tickets, rentals, or lessons. They hope to add these services back soon. If you do plan on going and aren’t a season pass holder, plan on getting your lift tickets online.

In terms of what they’ll do with the old base lodge, also known as The Barn, it will likely be demolished with a new building going in its place. With a new community park planned across the street, the Nordic Valley Village Community Benefit Foundation has decided to honor the Barn in that space. According to KSL, they plan on creating a replica of The Barn in the new community. Nordic Valley is planning to build a base village in the future.

Let’s hope the rest of the season for Nordic Valley is snowy and a lot less eventful.
