Nominated for her role in ‘Saltburn,’ actress Rosamund Pike elegantly transformed a skiing mishap into a striking fashion statement at the Golden Globe Awards. The 44-year-old ‘Gone Girl’ star captivated onlookers with her sophisticated, lacy all-black attire, complemented by a distinctive fascinator adorning her sleek bun.

In a conversation with Marc Malkin from Variety on the red carpet, Pike disclosed that her fashionable headpiece was more than just a style choice. She described the lace veil as a “protective” accessory for the special occasion.

“I had a [skiing] accident over the holidays,” Pike shared, noting the less-than-ideal timing with the Golden Globes scheduled for January 7th. Although the accident had happened about two weeks before the awards show, Pike mentioned that she had fully recovered. Despite this, she chose to retain the veil, having “fallen in love with the look.”

The actress’s ensemble, a stunning strapless black gown adorned with floral details and a mesh neckline, was seamlessly coordinated, right down to her shoes and pedicure.

Pike, nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for ‘Saltburn,’ found her red-carpet look reminiscent of her character, Lady Elspeth Catton, in the film. Agreeing with Malkin’s observation, she humorously added, “You have to channel it, don’t you? It’s either a sort of weird funeral vibe or maybe she wore black for her wedding.”
