Earlier this month, Dominic Torro was caught in an avalanche on Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. The experienced backcountry guide was skiing the Airplane Gully with a friend when an avalanche brought him down five hundred feet. He luckily survived but suffered a compound tibia/fibia fracture due to his bindings not coming off. He was rescued four hours later after the avalanche, and transported to to a hospital. While in the hospital, he needed to get four surgeries.

Last week, WMUR spoke with Dominic Torro. In the video below, Dominic discusses what went down that fateful day, his experience at the hospital, and what the road ahead entails.

Due to these surgeries and his long road to recovery, a GoFundMe has been set up by a close friend of his. Click here to check out the GoFundMe.
